Over the years I had and still have several sellers ask if holidays is a good time to sell a house?

It has been my experience that here in Columbia SC it has been and still a good time to have your house on the market during winter holidays. SC winter weather is mild compared to states with ice and snow. We have pre-approved buyers that are serious about buying a home to celebrate the holidays or start the New Year in. My experience has been that listings get shown and sold during Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. Homes look pretty while decorated for the holidays and so the the neighborhoods they are in. Most of the time there are less homes offered for sale and if your home stands out it has a very good chance to get shown and sold.

Interest rates are still low and that brings some serious buyers out to look for a new home. Eventually interest rates are going up has been predicted. You can buy more house with a lower interest rate.

This time of the year buyers and sellers need to consider that lenders and closing attorneys work different hours during holidays and that can effect the loan approval, appraisal and closing dates, also movers.

If you are asking my opinion I say winter and holidays are a very good time to list and sell a home. Feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions.

Thank you
